January profile: Aidan Wilson, new Campaign Manager

Why I decided on a career in marketing Understanding a need in an industry and finding a dynamic, helpful and honest way of bringing the product to the customer with integrity is what inspires me. Online Marketing is at a dynamic cross-roads, which makes it a very powerful tool in the marketing landscape. Marketing is vital across all industries and will forever be an evolving career. The most important lessons I learnt from college At college I grew into a more dynamic and diverse person as integration with others, the desire to research and the drive to be my best became central to my daily life. Describe your first week at AdMarula My first week at AdMarula has been awe inspiring. I realized how fast-paced and innovative the industry is at the moment. I am impressed with the professional and creative level of service that is offered to clients with such ease and efficiency. AdMarula is definitely a leader in the performance marketing industry and I look forward to growing with the team. What are you most looking forward to? I am most looking forward to acquiring a new skill set. There is so much to learn on so many levels! When I’m not working I’m… When I’m not working I am running, reading, keeping fit and discovering Cape Town. Aspirations and dreams? It is my intention to complete a Marketing degree and move into a senior management position. What advice do you have for new graduates when it comes to finding their first job? Draw up a succinct and professional CV with a head and shoulder photo of yourself. Register with as many placement agencies as possible. Be prepared to start at the bottom and work your way to the top. Never give up. Research each company prior to the interview. Stay positive and believe in yourself. Best advice anyone has ever given me… Never stop studying. You will reap what you sew.
